Battery Charging
The freeride battery is buried behind the swing arm under the shock. If you want to charge the battery or jump it, you can do it through the starter relay under the seat.
Jumping
To jump the battery:
(1) clip the negative lead to the frame
(2) clip the positive lead to the bolt on the starter relay closest to the engine.
WARNING: DO NOT clip ANY lead to starter relay rear bolt. If the starter activates when you connect it up, you have connected it wrong. DO NOT PRESS THE START BUTTON – or very bad things will happen. Disconnect and try again.
Charging
You can temporarily connect a charger the same way you connect jumper cables.
If you want to connect a charger quick connector, connect the negative lead to the frame. In the pictures below, the negative lead of the charger quick connector is attached to the frame where the battery negative lead is connected (just above the rear brake master cylinder). You don’t have to go to this trouble, you can connect the negative lead to the subframe mount.
